Patrick Henning, M.A.


Patrick Henning is a graduate of Saint Louis University and has a Master of Arts (research) degree in the field of communications. He founded Henning Communications in 1978 as a boutique design firm, steadily building to its current position as a leading strategic communications company. Pat works with clients to plan and implement brand solutions that reflect the vision of their organizations. He has presented to numerous philanthropic organizations. He has served on numerous advisory boards for nonprofit organizations, and is an active member of the Missouri Watercolor Society, participating in many plein-air competitions. Pat can be found listening to Bob Dylan while perfecting his watercolors when he should be working.

Dan Queathem, M.A.

Chief Executive Officer

Dan Queathem brings to the Henning team an enthusiasm for communicating the missions of nonprofit and faith-based organizations. Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and recently completed his Master of Arts in Theology at Saint Louis University. Dan serves on the board of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and also is active with the International Catholic Stewardship Council and the National Catholic Stewardship Conference. When not at Henning, Dan enjoys cooking for friends and family, cycling, running and teaching himself to play the piano.

Elizabeth Henning

Vice President – Operations

Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, with minors in journalism and communications. She completed her graduate studies in English at Saint Louis University. She brings experience from the communication and education fields, At Henning Elizabeth works as part of the creative team to manage copywriting, budgets,  schedules and data content marketing. An avid reader, her favorite authors include Dorothy Parker, Ernest Hemingway, Kate Chopin, Kit Marlowe, F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.R.R. Tolkien and George R. R. Martin. She also volunteers as a stage manager and costumer for various St. Louis theater companies.

Ryan Gallo

Art Director

Ryan is a graduate of Maryville University in St. Louis, and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. He joined the staff at Henning Communications as a graphic designer in January 2015. Ryan brings his talents to projects for branding and marketing communications. His responsibilities include direct mail packaging, print and web communications. He is proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and works with digital designers and programmers to deliver websites. When not at Henning Communications, Ryan enjoys watching his favorite sports teams the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bulls.

Sue Givens

Business Manager

Sue Givens is a licensed CPA and has worked professionally in the public and corporate taxation and accounting arenas for over 35 years. She joined Henning Communications in 2013. As a self-employed CPA specializing in tax planning and reporting, she has served individual and small business clients for the past 17 years. Prior to that, she was employed for over 15 years by Hussmann Corporation, an international manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment, where she served in a number of tax and accounting positions, including an assignment as Chief Financial Officer for Hussmann-Europe. She earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and an MBA from SIU-Edwardsville. She and her husband Steve live in the Creve Coeur area and are active members of Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield. When she is not adding things up on her calculator, she enjoys reading, traveling and being a grandma.
