Archdiocese of Omaha Exceeds Appeal Goal by $335,000
We would like to congratulate the development team at the Archdiocese of Omaha for exceeding their annual appeal goal of $3.5 million by more than $335,000. Their vision and dedication to building a culture of philanthropy is bearing much fruit and impacting the lives of those served every day. We are proud to partner with the Archdiocese of Omaha, and we would like to share with you some of the ways they have accomplished these outstanding results.
After conducting a successful $53 million capital campaign, the archdiocesan development team saw an opportunity to cultivate newly energized audiences and increase annual giving. They partnered with Henning Communications to develop targeted brand marketing and strategic communications to support their Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.
Key messages of evangelization and stewardship, rooted in the vision of Archbishop George J. Lucas, provided a foundation for all appeal communications. New creative approaches were proposed and developed to encourage even more people to support the ministries and services of the archdiocese. Consistent branding and messaging was communicated across a variety of channels, including direct mail, print and digital marketing and pastoral support for pastors and parish leaders.
Further refinements to their already successful direct mail program were implemented. Highly personalized and segmented solicitation letters were crafted to activate prospects and encourage faithful donors at every giving level to increase their support. Branding for their major donor society, the Archbishop’s Circle, was refreshed and strengthened, and custom materials were created to support personal visits with high-level donors.
“The generosity of people throughout the archdiocese is remarkable,” says Breeane Peterson, development officer with the Archdiocese of Omaha. “We are close to our highest participation ever and nearly 100 parishes have already exceeded their goals.”
For the past several years, the Archdiocese of Omaha consistently has exceeded their annual appeal goal and their participation rate has continued to increase steadily. This past year alone, nearly 15,000 donors supported the appeal, including a record 1,110 members of the Archbishop’s Circle with gifts of $1,000 or more.
